Steamhaus is a Certified B-Corporation

Steamhaus is now a B Corp.

We’re very happy to announce that Steamhaus is now a B Corp. We’ve joined over 700 other B Corps in the UK all committed to using business as a force for good.

What is a B Corp?

The B Corp Certification is a designation that a business meets high standards of verified performance, accountability, and transparency on factors from employee benefits and charitable giving to supply chain practices and input materials.

It basically means that Steamhaus is now certified as a company that puts people, the community, and the environment before profit.

Why we became a Certified B Corporation

Our B Corp certification didn’t begin around a year ago when the official application process began—it started on our first day of trading. We’ve always been passionately people-first, and adamant that Steamhaus was going to be a business for good. Everything from our specific policies to our behaviours with customers have people in mind, and we’ve always been conscious of doing the right thing.

These procedures and policies already existing made the certification process a smooth one.

Our Managing Director, Dan, has this to say about our certification:

"We’re delighted to be part of the B-Corporation movement. It celebrates and cements our values as giving a shit about people and planet rather than just profit.

I passionately believe the world of capitalism needs to think about creating a happy workplace, contributing to local community and caring about the future of the planet. B Corporations have these values at their heart so it was a logical step for Steamhaus to gain B Corp status.”

Moving forward

Throughout the application process we saw areas that we can continue to improve as a business, whether that be internally for our team, for our customers, or for the community and environment. Although we’re happy to be a Certified B Corporation, we know that there is more we can do.
